Privacy Policy

When you use RankedSpeak, we collect:

• Account information: email address and username when you sign up.
• Profile photo (optional): a photo you choose to add. If you sign up with Google, we offer the profile picture on your Google account as your photo during sign up; it is only used if you keep it, and you can change or remove it at any time in the app. We store a small resized copy on our own servers (Cloudflare) rather than linking to Google. We receive your Google profile picture only through the basic profile information Google Sign-In provides, and use it for nothing else.
• Referral information: if you join with a friend's invite code, we record which account invited you and whether you have played your first ranked duel, so both accounts can receive the reward. The friend who invited you sees your username, photo, and whether you have played that duel.
• Voice recordings: audio you record within the app for evaluation. Recordings are processed by our AI and stored temporarily. You can delete them at any time.
• Usage data: app interactions, feature usage, and performance metrics to improve the product.
• Device information: device type and OS version for compatibility purposes.
• Purchase and transaction data: when you buy a subscription or a one-time in-app unlock, we store a record of the purchase linked to your account. This record includes what you unlocked, the App Store product identifier, and the App Store transaction identifier. We use it to grant the access you paid for and to restore your purchases across your devices. We do not receive or store your payment card number or other card details, which are handled entirely by Apple.

• To provide and improve the app experience
• To evaluate your speech recordings using AI and return scores
• To manage your account and matchmaking
• To send product updates if you opted into our waitlist
• To detect and prevent abuse

When you record a speech in RankedSpeak, the audio is uploaded to our servers and then sent to Google Gemini (operated by Google LLC) for transcription and scoring. The AI returns a score across five categories (clarity, flow, structure, substance, and delivery) plus a written transcript and feedback.

What is sent: the raw audio file and the prompt text. We do not send your username, email, or any other identifier alongside the recording.

How long it's kept: recordings are retained for up to 90 days so you can revisit your past attempts and so duels can be re-scored if a dispute is raised. After 90 days they are deleted automatically. You can delete any individual recording, or your entire account, from the app at any time.

Training: Google has confirmed that prompts and audio sent to the Gemini API are not used to train or improve their models. Your speech is not used to fine-tune any AI system, by us or by Google.

RankedSpeak is a competitive speech app, and certain information is shown publicly to other users so the ranked experience can work:

• Username, profile photo, ELO, rank, level, and XP: visible on the global leaderboard and in any duel you participate in. Other users can report a photo, and we review reports within 24 hours.
• Scores from ranked duels: visible to your opponent on the duel results screen.
• Profile stats (streak, total duels, win rate), visible inside duel results to your opponent.
• Your duel speech transcript: in a ranked duel, the written transcript of the speech you recorded for that duel can be read by your opponent, and their transcript can be read by you. This applies only to the two players in a given duel, and reading an opponent's transcript requires a one-time unlock or a Pro subscription. Your audio recording itself is never shared with your opponent. Only the text of what you said in that duel can be shown.

Your email address, phone number, and audio recordings are never shared publicly or shown to other users. The written transcript of a speech you record for a ranked duel can be shown to your opponent in that duel, as described above, and is never posted publicly. By creating an account, you consent to your username, profile photo if you add one, and the metrics above being uploaded to our servers and shown on the public leaderboard. You can request account deletion at any time from inside the app, which removes your username, photo, and scores from the leaderboard.

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

• Supabase: database and authentication provider
• Google Gemini: AI speech evaluation
• PostHog: product analytics (anonymized)
• RevenueCat: subscription and in-app purchase management
• Apple: processes all payments for subscriptions and one-time in-app purchases

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (use the delete account option in settings)
• Object to processing of your data

RankedSpeak lets users compete in duels and rooms where they can hear each other's recorded speeches. To keep the community safe, we provide tools to report and block other users.

Reporting:from any duel or room, tap the “...” menu on another user to file a report. You can flag hate speech, harassment, sexual or violent content, spam, impersonation, content from a suspected minor, or anything else that doesn't belong. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours by our moderation team.

Blocking: blocking a user prevents them from being matched with you in ranked duels and removes their content from your view. You can manage your block list under Settings → Safety → Blocked Users.

Enforcement: users found to violate our community guidelines may have content removed, accounts suspended, or accounts permanently banned. We cooperate with law enforcement when required by applicable law.
